Workers’ Rights

Where Government policy lets workers down we will step in.

Some of our most important employment laws are a century or more old. They’re not fit for the modern world. And they open the door to those who see workers’ rights as a mere burden to be dodged.

We will litigate, where we can, to put pressure on Government to change the law. And we will also litigate to force Government to apply the law. All too often it sits and watches as businesses profit by unlawfully exploiting the poorest and most vulnerable.

Even the Government’s flagship policies – such as the minimum wage – are undermined through its own inaction and workers’ lack of access to justice.

We are currently considering a case on the failure to pay workers the minimum wage by falsely labelling them as ‘volunteers’ or ‘interns’. If you hear of any unpaid internships that look to you to be a full time job, please get in touch with us. Even better, if you or someone you know is currently doing an unpaid internship with a politician, please let us know.
