Shop the collectionBefore Ms Miller’s case emerged into the public eye, we crowdfunded the case that eventually became the ‘People’s Challenge’. Alongside Ms Miller we successfully challenged the Government’s position that Article 50 could be triggered without Parliamentary authorisation.
We argued that:
– Parliament had given us rights as EU citizens;
– Triggering Article 50 would, without more, lead to the removal of those rights; and
– What Parliament had given to us, the Government could not take away.
The Supreme Court agreed (by a majority of 8-3): an Act of Parliament was needed to initiate the process that would lead to the removal of our rights as EU citizens.
