Grenfell fire: Help bring the architects of this tragedy to book

It’s more than seven years since 72 people lost their lives at Grenfell Tower, a 24-storey block that still looms over Kensington and Chelsea, the most unequal borough in Britain. The fire was a tragedy, but not an accident: the negligence and cost cutting while it was refurbished sealed its fate. But none of the people involved in this lethal project have been held to account.

And the failure of the architects leading this deadly refurbishment was shockingly complete.

As Winta Afwerki Abraha, who lost her sister, niece and cousin in the fire, explains, “These architects were responsible for the architectural safety of our and our families’ homes. Yet none of their partners or employees had the relevant knowledge, experience or skills needed to work on a high-rise cladding project.”

The damning reports from the public inquiry should have been enough for regulators to take action, but they’ve done nothing.

It’s high time these architects were held to account. So we’ve teamed up with bereaved families, Grenfell Campaigners and the Fire Brigades Union to say: enough is enough.

We’ve delivered a complaint against the architects who led the Grenfell refurbishment straight to the Architects Registration Board. They can’t ignore it now. But we need your support.
