We’re pleased to announce that we’ve been given a hearing in the High Court in our legal challenge to force the Government to take much tougher action to stop water companies from dumping raw sewage into our coastal waters.

Many of our vital environmental laws and protections are being put at risk by the long and dark shadow of Brexit. It beggars belief that this comes at a time when the Government should be urgently strengthening and expediting our response to the ongoing climate emergency.

The new Conservative Party Chairman, Greg Hands, helped Luxe Lifestyle Ltd, a company closely associated with the then Chair of his local constituency party, Mark Higton, land a £25m ‘VIP’ PPE deal. This is despite the company having no experience in providing protective equipment. 

Back in March 2021, former Prime Minister Boris Johnson, told Parliament that details of all Covid contracts were now “on the record”. A month later, Cabinet Minister Julia Lopez, claimed “all historical Covid-related contracts” had been published.

We are going to court in March to support Protect Dunsfold in their efforts to stop a scheme which could open the doors to oil and gas barons flocking to Surrey’s countryside to exploit its natural resources.

We are delighted that the Environmental Law Foundation (ELF), supported by us, has been given permission to intervene in a landmark case about whether water companies are legally accountable for sewage dumping.  

For 17 months, the FCDO refused to answer our questions regarding Raab’s WhatsApp use. But, following an intervention from the ICO, they’ve finally come clean.

The Department of Health and Social Care’s annual accounts for 2021-22 have revealed a further £6 billion write down in connection with PPE and other inventory. This follows a staggering £8.9bn write down in 2020-21.   

In 2021, we brought a case against the Government’s award of PPE contracts to Pharmaceuticals Direct – a company linked to a Conservative Party activist and donor, Samir Jassal. However, our legal action was paused by a technical error made by our external solicitors when filing the claim.

Following a complaint raised by a cross-party group of MPs working with Good Law Project, the climate change promoting ‘charity’, the Global Warming Policy Foundation (GWPF), has been forced to make a Serious Incident Report to the Charity Commission. GWPF is based at 55 Tufton Street, the home of dark funding, astroturfing and opaque influence.

An investigation by Good Law Project has uncovered the huge profits made by Zoe Ley after she brokered a £250m PPE deal for Hong Kong-based Worldlink Resources – a firm who landed two huge contracts via the unlawful ‘VIP’ lane.

The High Court has rejected our attempt to challenge the long waiting times experienced by trans people seeking help from the NHS. The waits are measured in years rather than weeks and months. We will seek permission from the Court of Appeal to try and overturn this decision.

Last year, Good Law Project launched a legal campaign to uncover the insidious network of think-tanks and lobby groups based around 55 Tufton Street. These organisations have had a disproportionate and harmful influence over our politics – and we have set out to expose who’s behind them and who’s funding them.

We have taken the first formal step in legal proceedings over the Cabinet Office’s three year delay in publishing the contracts awarded to suppliers as part of the Government’s controversial ‘Ventilator Challenge’ programme.   

The final details of the case have been sewn up. We have received the consent order confirming that the case has been withdrawn and that E2BN will pay £10,000 of our costs.
