It’s time for men to speak up - and act

Women are rightly outraged by the constant violence and abuse against women and girls – are men?
Predators don’t work in a silo. The Epstein files, Gisèle Pelicot, the over 50 students involved in the Cornell scandal – hundreds of men knew about the sexual assaults and abuses. And did nothing.
It cannot be left to women to keep fighting this alone. Men have a role to play too.
We need more men calling out misogyny, willing to stand with women, and take action.
More men challenging other men, confronting the attitudes and behaviours that allow misogyny and violence to be normalised, overlooked or excused. More men demanding action from the institutions and people with the power to make change. More men holding them to account when they fail to act. And more men fighting to change the conditions that allow violence against women and girls to happen and flourish.
We have to use our collective voice to make sure violence against women and girls cannot be ignored, minimised or pushed aside. We desperately need men to speak up and stand with women against violence and abuse.
