Support resources for survivors of sexual harassment and assault

No matter when, where or how it happened, survivors of sexual harassment and assault deserve to be listened to and it’s important to know what support exists. Below is a non-exhaustive list of charities and non-profit organisations offering support. If there are organisations you think we should add, please get in touch.

galop lgbt+ – provides support to LGBT+ people who are survivors of sexual violence and other forms of abuse.

The Male Survivors Partnership – a charity improving access to provide support and end sexual violence against men and boys.

One in Four – specialises in supporting survivors of sexual violence, domestic violence and abuse, and particularly survivors of child sexual abuse and trauma.

Rape Crisis England & Wales – a feminist charity working to end sexual violence and abuse in England & Wales.

Refuge – the largest domestic abuse organisation in the UK offering support services to women and their children, helping them to overcome the physical, emotional and logistical impacts of abuse and rebuild their lives.

Safeline – a specialist sexual violence and abuse charity led by the needs of its clients.

The Survivors Trust – a national membership organisation supporting specialist rape and sexual abuse services in the voluntary sector.

Survivors UK – a charity supporting male and non-binary survivors of sexual violence, providing counselling, practical help and community on your healing journey.

Hestia – provides support for victims of domestic abuse in London and the south east.

RSVP – provides support to people in Birmingham and Solihull who have been subjected to sexual violence and abuse to thrive and enjoy a future of hope and confidence.

SARSAS – provides support for people in Bath & NE Somerset, Bristol, North Somerset, Somerset and South Gloucestershire affected by rape or any kind of sexual assault or abuse at any time time in their lives.

Sue Lambert Trust – a charity in Norfolk offering free therapeutic counselling and support services to survivors of sexual violence and abuse.

Survivors’ Network – supporting survivors of sexual violence and abuse in Sussex.

Nexus – the leading organisation within Northern Ireland supporting individuals impacted by sexual abuse and abusive relationships.

Onus – a social enterprise offering specialist training on domestic violence and abuse, providing a list of domestic and sexual abuse support services for Northern Ireland.

Rape Crisis Northern Ireland – a non-governmental organisation and support services for anyone aged 18 or over who has experienced rape or serious sexual assault in adulthood.

Victim Support – an independent charity which helps people affected by crime including sexual violence and consent.

Glasgow and Clyde Rape Crisis – provides support to women and girls in the Glasgow and Clyde area who have experienced rape or sexual violence.

Rape Crisis Scotland – an organisation working to transform attitudes, improve responses and achieve an end to rape and sexual violence in all forms.

Scottish Women’s Rights Centre – a unique collaborative project providing free legal information, advice, representation and advocacy support to self-identifying women in Scotland affected by violence and abuse.

Upstream – an online resource that enables adults in Scotland to prevent child sexual abuse.

New Pathways – the largest sexual violence support provider in Wales, delivering specialist therapeutic support to adults and children affected by the trauma of rape, sexual assault or sexual abuse.

RASASC North Wales – provides information, specialist support and therapy to anyone aged 3 or over who has experienced any kind of sexual abuse or violence either recently or in the past.

Cymorth i Ferched Cymru (Welsh Women’s Aid) – a charity working to end violence against women and girls, providing services to survivors of violence and abuse and delivering a range of innovative preventative services in local communities.

Take Back the Night – the oldest worldwide movement to stand against sexual violence, offering support to survivors on their healing journeys.
