Why does the British Museum need to talk about slavery?

Five million people saw the treasures of the British Museum last year, but they wouldn’t have found much about the British Empire’s trade in enslaved African people.

We’re teaming up with The World Reimagined to launch a campaign to make sure our national museum tells our national story, with a permanent exhibit about the transatlantic slave trade.
