Dr Jason Arday: Hounded to his death by the press

Media harassment is getting worse and the impact is deadly. Enough is enough – we’re calling for a public inquiry

Jason Arday: Demand a public inquiry now Add your name

Campaign overview

Dr Jason Arday died in the most tragic circumstances after a two-week campaign of relentless harassment, continuing even after his resignation as a Professor when the reasonable public interest in the story had diminished or evaporated. His death did not result from the allegations of plagiarism but from the press coverage.

We believe that the press must be held accountable for their racist, profit-motivated conduct that led to Jason’s death. We’re calling for a public inquiry into how to ensure a responsible press given its contribution to Dr Arday’s tragic death.
