View our privacy policyThe Reform Council in Worcestershire is trying to ban trans people from accessing services. We’re fighting back
The Reform council in Worcestershire is the latest in the list of people and institutions attempting to use the For Women Scotland Supreme Court judgment to justify transphobic policies. But, like those before them, they are wrong.
Reform councillors are trying to limit the access of trans women to facilities and services, disregarding not just the law, but the impact this would have on the community.
The motion, introduced by Reform councillors, calls for the county council to limit access to “single-sex facilities and services for women”. But the law does not call for the exclusion of trans women, and we believe that these proposals are unlawful.
We’ve written to Worcestershire County Council explaining the law, and are awaiting their reply. And, if they want to follow transphobic bullies, then they’ll have to face the consequences.
