View our privacy policyNHS England is misusing health data to encourage social services to investigate families caring for trans kids. We’ve commissioned legal advice for families in the firing line.
Good Law Project has already revealed how NHS England is misusing sensitive healthcare data to bully families providing loving and gender-affirming care for their kids. As we reported, NHS England is encouraging referrals of those families to social services.
We believe this misconduct is driven by ideologues in the NHS who, as Kemi Badenoch has stated, were handpicked for their anti-trans views. When referrals are made, and pursued, it has serious negative consequences – scarce social services resources are diverted away from children suffering actual serious harm. And it has profoundly negative consequences for loving families who are wrestling conscientiously with how to care for their trans kids in an increasingly transphobic country.
To help those families, Good Law Project has commissioned general advice for families from Simpson Millar, one of the leading legal specialists in the country. If you need bespoke advice you can contact them on childcare@simpsonmillar.co.uk or 0808 239 5700.
Although we cannot respond to all of the messages we receive, you can tell us about your own family’s experiences. We are likely to support a legal challenge to an especially egregious example of misconduct by a social services department.
